Propertyware is a web-based property management system designed primarily for residential properties. The suite includes features for tenant and lease tracking, building maintenance and financial accounting. More than 2,000 companies in seven countries have utilized Propertyware’s “cloud-based” software.

Propertyware serves a largely non-commercial segment of the property management industry. Types of properties that the software can manage include affordable and public housing, apartments, condos, co-ops, self-storage, student and senior housing. Propertyware does not focus on the commercial, vacation rental or retail management industries. The software can scale to manage any number of units and users but Propertyware’s focus is on small to medium sized property management companies that manage between 20-50,000 units. The software’s “plug and play” modules means that Propertyware can help managers who are looking for basic functionally to those looking for a fully-functional software suite.

While sporting an impressive array of modern software feature, Propertyware does not address CAM and OPEX charges or payroll processing. Propertyware can integrate with Velocity utility billing, a tool offered by their parent company, RealPage. Because it’s web-based, Propertyware is operating system agnostic, meaning it will run on any platform that has a supported web browser. Propertyware’s deployment model means users get enjoy the benefits of running a web-based system – remote access, automatic backup of data, no on-premise installation and automatic software updates. Propertyware also integrates with many third-party services, including Quickbooks, Microsoft Dynamics, Google Analytics, Google Adwords and Craigslist.org. COMPANY

Founded in 2001 by Software as a Service (SaaS) veterans Sina Shekou and Adam Silverthorne, Propertyware created the first online property management software system. The company was acquired by multi-family industry software giant RealPage, Inc. in November 2009. RealPage, Inc., including Propertyware, currently employs 3,500 people and is based in Carrollton, Texas.
